Your Gourmet Dream itinerary
A short break or gourmet getaway is organised by Vin de Tarn, staying in accommodation at Maison au Puits. This is a general guide and remains flexible to include local happenings or special interests during your visit. May is a perfect time to visit - warm and very pretty with wisteria and roses in full display.
Wednesday - Your start to a relaxing 4 night holiday.
Early arriving guests will lunch with the locals. An aperitif before dinner
to meet your mentor Margaret Lewis and discuss the details of the next three
days of your dream.
Thursday - Sunday - 3 whole days to fulfil your dreams in
this gourmet getaway. You will meet Stephane
Loubatieres your
French wine Sommelier who will take you on an exciting discovery of the vineyards
and the Gaillacoise, its famous personalities, ancient grape varieties
and of course the wines. Throughout your stay there will be opportunities
to relax, take in the picturesque countryside, partake of some retail therapy
and to explore the mediaeval bastide town of Cordes sur Ciel.
- visit local markets to see and taste the region's best on display - local hams, cheeses, fois gras, wines and more
- Gaillac wine tastings
- visit a wine museum, step back to 972 to learn of the first attempts at developing Gaillac wines
- explore the wonderful world Eau-de-Vie liqueurs
- dine in restaurants, sample traditional regional food and
- experience a different night out at a private Manor deep in the countryside.
Sunday morning - Departure Day. Whether you are returning home or visiting other areas you can reflect on the memories and experiences you take back with you. Namely:-
- Meeting interesting people
- Learning the C12th history and gourmet culture of France
- Relaxing and at the same time learning
- Escaping from the maddening crowds
- Enjoying fine wines and foods you just can't get elsewhere.
