Margaret Lewis
Wine and food loving Francophile Margaret Lewis, an Australian living in France, will be your guide for your stay. She is looking forward to making you welcome in this little corner of Paradise in the heart of the vineyards of the Gaillac Appellation. Here you will discover wines made from ancient grape varieties not found in the other more famous vineyards of France.
Margaret’s love of France and passion for wine and food has been a lifelong affair. She lived for many years in the famous Hunter Valley wine region of Australia. She was a Director of The Evans Wine Company which had vineyards in Australia, France and America and lived and worked in France at Chateau Rahoul in Graves and Chateau Padouen in Barsac. Margaret was three-time winner of the CIV Champagne Award in New South Wales in Australia. She also worked as a representative for an importer of French Wines in Australia.
Stephane Loubatieres
Will be your wine Sommelier. He too has a passion for wine and food and is a native of South West France. Stephane lives in Toulouse where he has his own wine business. Stephane's career has encompassed all facets of wine education and service in France and the UK. His extensive travels will guarantee you access to a mine of information on wine from all regions of the world as well as Gaillac. Stephane completed his initial wine and food education at Lycée Hotelier de Toulouse. This was followed by a number of years study in London.
For 3 years he was the Sommelier of “Restaurant 1837” (part of the five star Brown’s Hotel in London) during which time the restaurant was awarded “ Best Hotel Restaurant in the UK” by Time Out together with the Wine Spectator award of excellence for its wine list in 2001/2002.
Stephane’s depth of knowledge, sense of fun and commitment to his vital role at Vin de Tarn will ensure that everyone, whatever their level of wine knowledge, will spend a thoroughly enjoyable week.
